Recruitment Rally:

Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from designated districts of state of Tamil Nadu and UT of Puducherry to join as Airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group ‘Y’ (Non – Technical) [for Automobile Technician, Ground Training Instructor, Indian Air Force (Police) only] Trades will be held at Anna Stadium, Race Course, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu
as per the Selection Programme given below.
Examination/Rally venue will be open from 0600h – 1000h and the examinations will be conducted as per the details given below. Candidates (from designated districts of state of Tamil Nadu and UT of Puducherry only as per schedule given below) fulfilling the domicile requirements and eligibility conditions and reporting up to 10 AM on 20 May 2017 and 22 May 2017 at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.

Eligibility Conditions:
Date of Birth Block. Candidates born between 07 July 1997 and 20 December 2000 (both days inclusive)
are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally
Educational Qualification:
Candidate should have passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central/State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and
50% marks in English.
Note :- 1: Boards recognized/affiliated by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) will only be permitted.
Note – 2: Exact aggregate % of marks before decimal as written in the marks sheet of 10+2/ Intermediate/Equivalent OR calculated as per the rules of concerned Education Board will only be considered (For example 49.99% should be taken as 49% and not to be rounded off to 50%
Tenure & Training.
Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up to the age of 57 years (subject to service conditions). Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at Basic Training Institute, Belagavi (Karnataka). On success ful completion of JBPT, candidates will be sent for trade training of specified duration. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness and discipline or is found to be medically unfit.
AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING, THE AIRMEN WILL BE DEPLOYED ON GROUND BASED JOBS AS PER THEIR ALLOTTED TRADE. ALLOTTED TRADE WILL NOT BE
CHANGED ON CANDIDATE’S REQUEST ON ANY GROUNDS.
Pay & Allowances.
During training, a stipend of Rs. 11,400/- per month will be paid. On completion of training the
starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Grade Pay, Military Service Pay (MSP), and Dearness Allowance (DA) will be Rs. 23,535/-per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.
Other allowances such as Transport Allowance, Composite Personal Maintenance Allowance (CPMA), Leave Ration Allowance (LRA), Children Education Allowance, Family Planning Allowance, HRA etc. are also admissible to airmen.
Note. – The above pay & allowances are under revision by 7th Central Pay Commission.
Job Specification.
(a) Automobile Technician.
As an Automobile Technician you will drive all types of light, medium and heavy automobiles, load carriers and specialist vehicles like cranes, towing tractors, fork lifters etc., subject to service exigencies. You will also carry out min or repairs, day to day maintenance and basic level servicing of the common user vehicles and specialist vehicles in the Indian Air Force inventory.
(b) Ground Training Instructor.
As a Ground Training Instructor, you will train personnel on drill, parade, handling of arms and physical
exercise. You are also responsible for organizing and conducting all games and sports activities.
(c) Indian Air Force (Police).
As an Indian Air Force (Police) your responsibilities involve assuming police duties and investigation of offences. You are also in – charge of maintenance of security.
Note: Airmen will also have to undertake any other tasks as assigned by superior authorities
Selection Procedure:
Verification of Eligibility.
Original Certificates, Marks Sheets and other required applicable original documents like NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate, Son of serving Air Force Personnel (SOAFP) certificate (or) Discharge Book, Service Certificate issued from AFRO/DAV for Sons of retired/deceased/discharged Air Force personnel (or)
Discharge Certificate (if discharged from Army/Navy/Government organisation), Consent Form, signed by parents if candidate below 18 years of age, and passport size colour photographs will be required and scrutinized/verified at the examination venue prior to commencement of Written Test to ascertain the eligibility prima-facie. Detailed verification will be carried out later in respect of candidates who pass Written Test. Candidature of those, who do not meet the laid down educational criteria, will be rejected during Initial verification of original certificates & mark sheets prior to conduct of written test and also during detailed verification on clearing the written test.
Examination:
1.Written Test:
Written Test will be objective type and question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper. Answers are to be annotated on OMR sheet . Detailed procedure shall be explained before conduct of the examination. Duration of the written test will be 45 minutes and will comprise of
English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day.
2.Adaptability Test-
1.All candidates who pass the Written Test will have to undertake Adaptability Test-1 which is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.
3.Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
All candidates who pass Adaptability Test – 1 are to undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes . Candidates will also have to complete 10 push – ups, 10 sit- ups and 20 squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.
Note: Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.
4. Adaptability Test:
2.All candidates who pass PFT will have to undertake Adaptability Test-2 as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test -2 is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.
5.Medical Examination:
Candidates who qualify Adaptability Test – 2 will be medically examined in the month of Jul 2017
at SMC, Air Force Station, Tambaram. Medical Examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and existing policy in vogue. Medical Examination would also include Baseline Investigation of: –
(a) Blood Haemogram-Hb, TLC, DLC
(b) Urine RE/ME
(c) Biochemistry:- (i) Blood Sugar Fasting & PP (ii) Serum Cholesterol (iii) Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine (iv) LFT — Serum Bilurubin, SGOT, SGPT
(d) X-Ray chest (PA view) (e) ECG (R)
Candidates declared Medically Unfit can avail the option for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) against their Unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/RBI/SBI through Military Receivable Order (MRO). The application for AMB along with original copy of MRO and photocopy of Unfitness Certificate are to be submitted to the representative of 8 Airmen Selection Centre within three working days of medical examination. Publishing of AISL;.
The All India Select List (AISL) will be displayed at 8 Airmen Selection Centre, Air Force Station Tambaram, Tambaram East, Chennai, Tamil Nadu – 600046 on 31 October 2017. Copies of the Display List will be sent to District Magistrate of Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu (through Airmen Selection Centre) and will also be available at Central Airmen Selection Board website www.airmenselection.gov.in.
The inclusion of names of the candidates in the AISL depends upon the performance of the candidates in the Rally. Inclusion of name in the All India Select List (AISL) does not guarantee automatic enrolment. Enrolment is strictly in order of merit from the AISL subject to medical fitness, avail ability of vacancies,
not exceeding the age of 21 years on date of enrolment and meeting other laid down eligibility criteria as and when called for enrolment. The validity of AISL will be 12 months from the date of display and will be applicable only for Intakes No. 01/2018 & 02/2018
